PChome and Net-Chinese (網路中文) are common domain registrars in Taiwan. At both, handing your DNS to another provider is called 「DNS 自管」 (self-managed DNS). This guide covers each one's official steps for switching to Cmini's nameservers. Both sites are in Chinese, so menu names are quoted as they appear.
The steps follow PChome's self-managed DNS FAQ and Net-Chinese's DNS host settings FAQ, checked on October 15, 2026.
Step 1: start hosting in Cmini first
Order matters: finish the setup in Cmini first, then change the nameservers at PChome or Net-Chinese. If you change the nameservers first, your old records stop working at once, and your website and email can go down.
- On the website's "Domains & publishing" page, or the "Domain" tab in the editor settings panel, find "Let Cmini manage your DNS" and click "Let Cmini manage DNS".
- Choose how to read your current records: "Detect automatically", "Import from Cloudflare" or "Paste a zone file".
- Under "Confirm the records to bring over", tick each record you want, use "Add a record" for any that are missing, then click "Start hosting".
- The screen shows "Last step: change the nameservers at your registrar" with four nameservers and a "Copy all" button.
Cmini's four nameservers are ns1.cbuilding.net, ns2.cbuilding.net, ns3.cbuilding.net and ns4.cbuilding.net. After you start hosting, change the nameservers within 3 days. If you don't, this setup and the records you brought over are deleted, and you have to click "Start again". The full flow is in Let Cmini manage your DNS.
How the two differ
PChome
PChome's domain service now lives at myname.pchomebiz.com.tw. The homepage menu item 「設定DNS自管 / 代管」 leads to this setting.
- Sign in to 「管理我的網址」 (manage my domains).
- Click 〔進入〕 (enter) to the right of the domain, then choose 「DNS自管」.
- Enter ns1.cbuilding.net, ns2.cbuilding.net, ns3.cbuilding.net and ns4.cbuilding.net.
- IP address: PChome says that if the DNS servers are not under your own domain, the IP field can stay empty. Cmini's nameservers are under cbuilding.net, so leave it empty.
- How many: the official example shows two and doesn't state a maximum. Enter all four; if only two fit, use ns1 and ns2.
- Timing: PChome says to allow 24 to 48 hours after you save.
- If you used PChome's free DNS hosting, its records stop applying once you switch, so bring them into Cmini first.
Net-Chinese
- Sign in to your Net-Chinese account.
- Go to 「域名管理」 (domain management) → your domain → 「DNS」 → 「DNS主機設定」 (DNS host settings) → 「DNS自管」.
- Enter at least two nameservers (all four is better) with host name and IP address, then save.
Net-Chinese asks for both host name and IP address. Cmini's screens don't show IPs. The table below is what public DNS returned on October 15, 2026. If the form needs an IP, the IPv4 column is enough.
- Once you switch, records can no longer be managed at Net-Chinese; you edit them in Cmini.
- Net-Chinese's default hosting uses ens1/ens2.net-chinese.com.tw (cns1/cns2 for .tw) and allows up to 50 records for free. Bring the records you need into Cmini before you switch.
- Net-Chinese says record changes take 12 to 24 hours. It doesn't state a separate time for nameserver changes.
- Net-Chinese support: (02) 2531-9696, [email protected], weekdays 08:30–19:00.
How long does it take, and how do I check?
Each registrar's own timing is in the table above. Cmini says it usually takes minutes to hours, and can take up to 48 hours. Once it takes effect, your website connects automatically.
- When you're done at the registrar, go back to Cmini and click "Check now".
- When it says "The nameservers have changed. Your DNS is now managed by Cmini.", you're done. Use "Manage DNS records" to edit records from then on.
- If it says "The nameservers have not changed yet.", it also lists the nameservers the registry has on file, so you can spot a typo.
- Filling in only some of the nameservers still works, but all four is more reliable.
If the nameservers are later changed away from Cmini, record editing is paused. If they are not changed back within 14 days, hosting ends automatically. Before you switch, also read Before you change nameservers: email and DNSSEC.
